Abstract

Autoped is a tool to move people or goods from one place to another. It has several advantages including a slim shape and can be used anywhere. However, autoped also have drawbacks such as not having any tools to operate the vehicle, which only uses leg power to move the object without using pedals or engines as other conventional vehicles. Based on the background above, the researchers are trying to innovate by utilizing Solar Panels as energy chargers for batteries. The installation of a 20 Wp solar panel is capable of producing a maximum charging voltage of 19.5 Volts at sunny temperatures. Charging time to the battery is 4,135 hours for a 12v 12 Ah battery. Therefore, it can save electricity consumption, especially in battery charging. This Electric Autoped is used as a substitute for short distance transportation as a substitute for fossil fuel energy.
