Analisis Penerapan Kode Etik Jurnalistik Di Harian Bengkulu Ekspress

Abstract

The journalistic code of ethics plays a very important role in the world of the press as a guide to the values of the journalistic profession, so that the journalistic code of ethics must be understood and implemented by journalists. The purpose of this study was to determine the application of the journalist code of ethics in the Bengkulu Ekspress Daily Newspaper. The research conducted was qualitative research. The research informants were the Head of the Publisher Section and one of the Journalists of the Bengkulu Ekspress Daily Newspaper. The data collection technique used was interviews. The data analysis method used is the descriptive method, which describes the results of the data obtained. The results of the study prove that the application of the journalist code of ethics in the Bengkulu Ekspress Daily Newspaper is in accordance with the constitutional guidelines applied in Indonesia for journalists to provide news or information that is published can be accounted for. In the application of the journalistic code of ethics in Indonesia, journalists do not make false, slanderous, sadistic and obscene news. Factors in the application of the journalist code of ethics are government policy factors and human rights to get protection from false news. Government policy towards the observance of the application of the journalist code of ethics is that the news published is accurate, balanced, according to the facts in the field to avoid things that can be detrimental.
